November 2007
The Oil and Gas Journal published in its October 8, 2007 edition an
abridged version of the EPRINC report originally published and
distributed in July of this year. This report will be available
shortly on our website in its OGJ format. In addition, the Oil and Gas
Journal will publish an EPRINC article on the role of ethanol in
the U.S. fuel market in its General Interest Section on November 26,
2007. This article is taken from remarks presented by EPRINC’s Vice
President, Larry Kumins, at a meeting of the George C. Marshall
Institute’s Washington Roundtable on alternative fuels held on July 25,
2007. It will be available on the EPRINC website shortly after
appearing in the Oil and Gas Journal. Larry Goldstein, a trustee of
EPRINC, and Director of Special Projects appeared on Wisconsin Public
Radio for a lengthy discussion on oil prices and the U.S.
economy. A webcast of the program will be available on EPRINC's
website in the next 10 days.
EPRINC has also begun a new research project to estimate the costs and
potential price effects of climate control measures on the U.S. fuel
market.
Febuary 2007
We have a new
name…. and we have made our move to Washington, DC!
The Petroleum Industry Research
Foundation
(PIRINC) has been located in New York City since 1944. For the past 62
years we have been privileged to interpret, observe, evaluate, and
comment on critical developments in U.S. and world energy markets. We
have published reports on all aspects of the petroleum and related
energy industries, all of which are made available free of charge to
all interested organizations and individuals.
Although we are changing our name to the Energy
Policy Research Foundation (EPRINC),
our mission will remain the same. In recent years, our role has brought
us to look at energy developments well beyond the petroleum industry,
hence the name change is both timely and appropriate.
